LET'S MAKE BELIEVE THAT DONALD TRUMP IS A BLACK MAN

by Quincy Stewart III, War Correspondent

Take a little trip with me now if you will. No drugs are needed, not even a drink. No hypnosis or fancy meditations from Depok Chopra. We won't even need an invocation by Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton or your local pastor, rabbi, imam or priest.
Let's imagine that Donald Trump is a Black man - Not Obama Black...uh uh...nope. Yaphett Koto, Don Cheadle Black. Wider nose, thicker lips, coarse hair, unmistakably and un-apologetically Black. No white mother to parade around or a dad from Africa. His mother is from Louisiana and his dad is from Detroit.
Let's say he too has been divorced three times and had several girlfriends, publicly. Let's say he has been accused of groping women all the time and admitted so, unknowingly while being secretly recorded talking about grabbing white women by the vagina and sticking his big pink tongue down under-aged runway model's throats without permission. Now...let me remind you to keep the image of a dark Black man in your mind's eye here....
Let's imagine further that his father was a self-made Black man in Detroit who owned some properties but ONLY rented to Black folk and openly said he would never rent his buildings to crackers, grays, peckerwoods, honkies, ofays, and this was a matter of public record.
Keep walking with me now as we dive a little deeper: His father dodged the draft because he said he wasn't going to fight on the side of crackers in Vietnam who saw him as a nigger in Detroit. This too is a matter of public record. Come on, lets keep going....
Let's imagine this dark Black man put out a full page ad in the Detroit Free Press and the News to kill five white boys via the death penalty accused of raping a Black girl on Belle Isle back in 1986. Come to find out later that those white boys were totally innocent. It was five Black boys that did it. He doesn't apologize at all...no remorse.
Let's say that he was a crooked business man. He lied, cheated, stole and conned his way through his dealings and the whole city of Detroit despised him. Remember...he is Don Cheadle Black...Kunta Kinte Black....
Let's say that he put out the rumor and began making it a TV campaign that George Bush was not really born in America. That he was born in S. Africa and is not eligible to be president. Even when Bush presents his birth certificate, this Black man is relentlessly still calling Bush a liar.
Let's imagine that this Black man, let's call him a real Black American slave name like Leroy Washington- decides to run for president. Let's say he divorced his third wife and married....YOU GUESSED IT....a white woman! Not just any run of the mill white woman like many of these brothers date and marry...uh uh... a fine ass white woman who stayed on this man's arm like he had the cure for cancer on it.
He is campaigning with her everywhere he goes and she has that, "I'm gettin' it good every night on the campaign trail" look on her face in front of campaign rallies in Iowa, Montana, the Upper Peninsula, Mississippi and Texas. He flaunts his wealth; he had a local TV Show in Detroit....he is a celebrity of sorts with absolutely NO experience in politics, foreign affairs, and was a lousy businessman to boot.
Stay with me...He is Black, handsome, confident and loquacious... He runs on a campaign to, "Make America Black Again." He is referring directly to the period between 1865 and 1880 when Blacks made tremendous strides in every area of activity during Reconstruction.
This Black man is running on a ticket to make us feel nostalgic for those times when the government instituted the Freedmen's Bureau and gave out land, grants, and enormous hands up to level the playing field and right the wrongs of the past. That's his ticket that he is running on.
He makes speeches where he is referring to Timothy McVeigh and the domestic terrorism of white men in this country as a threat to American democracy as we know it. In a speech he said that, "white men are rapists, murderers and criminals, and maybe some of them are good people." He says that we need more border security along the east coast so that Europeans cannot be let in.
He even uses statistics to back up his claims such as: There were more white terrorists than all others combined. We found 160 individuals who fit the FBI’s definition of a terrorist, 105 of whom were white. White terrorists dangerous: While making up 65.6 percent of the terrorists, they represented (56.1 percent) in the number of terrorist murders and represented (79.6 percent) in the number of people injured by terrorists.
DATA: FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Mother the person presenting these stats is a Black man using Homeland Security information. Undeniable. He runs for President. He wins but only due to the Electoral College. He uses his bully pulpit to now disgrace the Office by calling white football players, "son's of bitches" because they are being gunned down by Black police officers in the streets. He likes to hang out with Black leaders of African countries who are ruthless dictators and calls them his friends.
This Black man even hangs out with leaders in China, Russia as well and despite their acts of pure inhumanity towards their countrymen, President Leroy Washington is down with all of them. Yet, he insults American allies, pulls out of NATO and insults the United Nations.
This Black president refuses white immigrants fleeing domestic terrorism in Kosovo, the Ukraine and other places and keeps them in what amounts to internment camps in deplorable conditions. They are mostly all white Europeans. Issues about him being a rapist, woman abuser, misogynist, and serial philanderer don't phase him. People he has hung out with in the past turn out to be criminals, rapists, liars and at least, unsavory.
People on his staff have to kiss his Black ass publicly to keep their jobs and lie for him right in the face of the American people. He insults war veterans of Hispanic origin and Native Americans by calling a white woman, "Pocahontas." KEEP IN MIND HE'S A BLACK MAN...DON'T LOSE SIGHT OF THIS.
The Republican Party wants this man not only impeached but drawn and quartered. They are outraged and call for his immediate removal from office as unfit. When they call on the Democrats to join them in removing an obviously insane president (particularly for calling White men terrorists) the Dems just sit there and twiddle their thumbs. They won't speak out when this jet Black president called four white congresswomen "haters of America, of Jews and ought to' leave the country." "President Leroy Washington is not misogynistic and racist", they say.
Jet-Black President Washington has a base of Black people in Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, Alabama, New York, Philly, Los Angeles, Tampa, Baton Rouge, Flint, St. Louis and a few other places that is rock solid no matter what he says or does. He goes there and makes speeches that are coded full of anti-white phrases. The crowd is waving red, black, and green flags and yelling, "Make America Black Again!"
COME BACK TO EARTH NOW.....BE HONEST....if he were Black, COULD HE HAVE GOTTEN AWAY WITH 1/1000TH OF WHAT I JUST WROTE? How silent would Mitch McConnell's deprecated, Night of the Living Dead lookin' ass have been? How closed lipped would the Republicans be? A White Supremacist was able to get into office and stay there because America is founded on the very same ideas he extols.
Make believe is over. I now release you back to your regularly scheduled "programming."

Natahaniel Abraham The Criminal Ordeal of a ManChild

by Kenny Anderson

A report was release by a panel of experts appointed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Youths back in 2007 stating that youth tried as adults and housed in adult prisons commit more crimes, often more violent ones, than minors who remain in the juvenile justice system.

Sentencing youth as adults have not deterred other youths from committing crimes, nor have they rehabilitated the youths sentenced under them, this lack of rehabilitation is personified in Pontiac, Michigan’s own Nathaniel Abraham! Back in 1997 Nathaniel gained national and international media attention as the youngest person age 11 ever to be tried as an adult in the US.

“Nathaniel Abraham at 11 years old was the youngest child in America charged as an adult for first degree murder. However, there are many more 11 year old Black boys like him growing up too fast; reckless; fatherless ‘Manchilds’; without discipline and direction headed to America’s racist criminal justice system. These Black male children have no clue of what they will be facing as they proceed through the various stages of the legal system. On several occasions when Nathaniel’s court session ended for the day, he would naively ask “Can I go home now?”; his boyish mind could not comprehend he was now state property - a little wild ghetto boy trapped in the legal circus , and he wouldn’t be going home to mama.”  - Cinque Kofi Kinaya
In 1997, Abraham shot 18-year-old Ronnie Greene outside a party store in Pontiac and was convicted of second-degree murder as an adult, but sentenced as a child. Abraham was sentenced as a juvenile and was released on his 21st birthday in 2007 but later returned to prison on charges for attempting to distribute the drug ecstasy and released in 2017.

Recently Nathaniel was arraigned on multiple drug-related charges at two district courts. On May 28, 2019 Nathaniel pleaded guilty to these drug charges and will be going back to prison where he has spent most of his life; unfortunately it seems prison has become a default home for Nathaniel.
“Nathaniel Abraham didn’t realize he’s been a ‘marked’ Black man since being tried as an adult when he was 11 years-old. When Nathaniel was released from prison local law enforcement would have him under surveillance; they were waiting to re-arrest a high-profile ‘Black target’. Nathaniel naively thought he could bypass his moral development while in prison then be released and remain under the radar engaging in illegal activities; he thought he was unseen but he wasn’t out of sight of the police.” – Cinque Kofi Kinaya
Indeed Nathaniel Abraham is the poster child of the failure of deterring youthful offenders for recommitting crimes by trying them as an adult. Personally, as a community leader I was involved in Nathaniel’s case from the beginning, writing and protesting against him being sentenced as an adult on the grounds of racism and the fact that he was only a child. I knew that trying Nathaniel as an adult would continue to have negative rippling effects on his life.

I knew what would probably – eventually happen to Nathaniel because as a social worker I spent a good chunk of my career providing volunteer services Male Responsibility & Fatherhood group sessions to incarcerated Black males; I heard stories repeatedly from session participants saying they had been locked-up constantly since a juvenile; they had become institutionalized!

Being institutionalized basically means that the norms of prison life has become internalized into one's habits of thinking, feeling, and acting; as psychologist Craig Haney stated:

“The process of institutionalization is facilitated in cases in which persons enter institutional settings at an early age, before they have formed the ability and expectation to control their own life choices. Because there is less tension between the demands of the institution and the autonomy of a mature adult, institutionalization proceeds more quickly and less problematically with at least some younger inmates. Thus, institutionalization or ‘prisonization’ renders some people so dependent on external constraints that they gradually lose the capacity to rely on internal organization and self-imposed personal limits to guide their actions and restrain their conduct.”

Understandably Nathaniel became institutionalized, as an 11 year-old child he had some emotional impairments and learning disabilities entering into and compounding the prison institutionalization process. Though Nathaniel is now 33 years-old he still has child within issues of prison arrested development and is still irresponsibly dependent on external constraints.

Black men suffering from prison institutionalization like Nathaniel along with paroling back into crime facilitating poverty stricken Black communities filled with drugs, hustling, and raw survival almost guarantees they’ll be back in prison.

From my perspective the Black community still has not grasped the psychological consequences of institutionalization on so many Black males like Nathaniel Abraham reintegration ‘revolving door’ back in and out of our communities.

Sadly and apathetically, this revolving door of Black men being in and out of prison like Nathaniel has for some time become normal; you know what most of us say this that “it is what is, aint nothing you can do about it anyway.”

An attitude of “it is what is” is fatalistic and defeatist and it’s unacceptable! Our community churches, organizations, and groups must do a much-much better job providing Black male prisoners returning to our communities with ongoing support and insight into the changes brought about by their adaptation to prison life.

They must be given some understanding of the ways in which prison institutionalization changed them negatively and the tools with which to respond positively to the challenge of reentry adjustment.

Honoring Black Fathers

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!

To All Responsible Black Fathers
And a Salute to All Our Ancestral Fathers
Who Shouldered the Pain of
Black Fatherhood in Racist America Before Us

“There's so much negative imagery of Black fatherhood. I've got tons of friends that are doing the right thing by their kids, and doing the right thing as a father - and how come that's not as newsworthy?” -  Will Smith

Father’s Day Perspective: The Effects of Fatherlessness on Black Children

By Kenray Sunyaru

Reflecting on Father’s Day, I thought about all the Black children over the years and now I’ve come in contact with who don’t have fathers, father-figures, or positive adult male mentors.

In most Black communities over 70% of our children are growing-up without fathers. Some researchers are citing that during slavery a Black child was more likely to grow-up living with both parents than today.

Indeed, Black father absence is a crisis, I often hear Black children say, “my daddy gone”, I aint got no daddy”, “my daddy ghost”, and “I don’t know who my daddy is.” I often hear many young Black males say “I don’t know where my daddy is - I don’t give a fuck about him, that nigger aint shit.

I want to highlight this point, I believe the tremendous rise of homosexuality in younger Black women the past 20 years is due in part to the absence of Black fathers is their lives.

Over the years working as a social worker I would often hear gay young Black women say “I hate my father, he was just a ‘sperm-donor’.” So these gay women who make themselves look just like men get involved with women who have a child/children where the father is absent and they become the new type substitute replacement ‘lesbian’ father.

I thought about the reasons why so many Black fathers are absent. I hear many young Black fathers who are not involved with their children say, “I survived growing-up without a father so my child can survive without me.”

Many Black fathers are dead due to Black-on-Black male violence; many Black fathers are in prison; many Black fathers are addicted to alcohol or other drugs; and many Black fathers are poor or unemployed and feel impotent.

Many Black fathers are irresponsible; many Black fathers have resentment towards their child / children’s mother; many Black fathers were driven out of the home or out of the relationship by negative and damaged Black mothers.

I understand, even before these reasons of absence, as fathers we carry deep wounds of insecurity from all the racist insults and attacks against Black manhood prior to having children. All of our unresolved hurts, pains, losses, slights, disappointments, and hardships make us emotionally vulnerable to abandon them.

Massive Black father absence has resulted in the devaluation of fatherhood, which has serious implications for the future of Black families and communities, as professor Amos Wilson Stated:

“The major result of fatherlessness in Black families seems not to be a confusion of sex identity, but a critically reduced ability of the children from these families when adults to successfully fulfill their roles as husbands, fathers, wives, and mothers. The lack of good role models which serve to show the children wholesome husband-wife, father-child relationships deprives the children of workable models that can be used to maintain their own family relations as adults.”

As Black fathers when we abandon our children we contribute to the decline of their well-being. Though racial oppression is a primary factor in Black children’s poverty. We know that fatherless Black children are 5 times more likely to live in poverty.

Black father absence is a major contributing factor producing impairments in our children. We know that Black father absence is a daunting obstacle to our children’s educational success. We know that fatherless Black girls have greater rates of teen pregnancy; are daughters are more vulnerable to sexual predators both males and females.

We know that fatherless Black children have a much higher rate of delinquency. We know the majority of young Black males in prison grew up without fathers; they often learned their criminal activities from surrogate fathers in the streets.

As Black men and fathers we play a tremendous developmental role in the lives of Black children. We can provide them with defense, discipline, and direction.

As tutors we can help the graduation rates of Black youth. We can teach them about the importance of education, history, leadership, and entrepreneurship in our on-going struggle for racial progress.

As mentors we can play a significant role in preventing Black youth involvement in gangs and violence. We can prevent more Black children from entering juvenile detention facilities. Through volunteer intervention outreach we can counsel those already detained.

As Black fathers we must understand our children are our responsibility; our marriage or relationships with our children’s mother may end but we have to be fathers first! Being positively involved fathers is the greatest thing we can show our children!

We must counter the Black lesbian narrative that Black fathers are replaceable sperm-donors; We must show our children that Black fathers are not superfluous and expendable; that Black fatherhood is critical to Black peoples survival, development, and progress!!!

Hey Sisters Good Black Men Want You, But Do You Really Want Them?

By Cory Haywood

Johnathan Farley, Ph. D, a math professor and graduate of Harvard and Oxford University, stating that for years now we have seen the allure of the Black male “thug culture.”
In an article in Essence, titled “Players and Professors: A Nice Guy Steps Up,” he explained why even educated, professional Black women prefer to date thugs over professional Black men.

One women interviewed said Black women want a stronger protector and don’t see professional Black men as “strong.” Now, Sisters, I don’t mean to be rude, but if there’s any truth to Farley’s theory, then something is truly wrong with ya’ll.

Contrary to popular belief about Black men, I adore Black women. I have openly criticized the tasteless behavior I’ve seen from certain Black women and will continue to do so. But that doesn’t mean I hate my sisters; it’s quite the contrary actually: I love, cherish, respect, and admire Black women. In fact, I only date Black women!

But I must be honest sisters, too many of you all make it extremely hard for Black men to love you. And don’t think I’m not aware of why many of you are choosing to date White guys: it’s the perception that they tend to be passive and easygoing; they’re much easier to control and push around. But that’s a dictatorship, not a partnership. I believe this passiveness and easygoingness is a misperception that does not take into account that white men still dominate us and control America politically and economically!
Granted, I understand there are many Black men who don’t deserve the privilege of being with a Black queen. I’ve come in contact with plenty of deadbeat dads, womanizers, abusers, criminals, and wannabe thugs. But they make up a small portion of available Black men.
Nevertheless, many Black women prefer “bad boy” types. It’s masochistic really. They run into the arms of thugs and layabouts, procreate with them, and wonder why they’re left having to raise children alone.
Sisters, I have to be brutally honest, the Black family structure is crumbling because many of you are choosing to be with “niggas” instead of responsible, goal-oriented, good Black men. You waste your time kicking and screaming, hoping that “Tyrone” will get his act together, when instead, you can choose a nice guy.
I often hear sisters say, “I need a man who can handle a strong woman like me.” But wait a minute, why do you want a man to “handle” you? Are you an animal? Wouldn’t you rather be loved instead? Sisters, why do so many of you equate masculinity with thuggery?
Sagging pants, tattoos and rowdy behavior aren’t indicators of strength; they’re signs of immaturity and weakness. Get a clue: your children deserve better fathers; you deserve better husbands; the Black community needs stronger families. Stop choosing the wrong men.
Here’s the problem: Black women have become so cynical and afraid of being mistreated, they don’t know how to behave when they finally meet a good Black man. I get it: it’s hard to trust anyone after you’ve been hurt over and over again.
On top of that, many sisters are programmed to hate Black men because their mothers were mistreated by multiple partners, and told their daughters not to respect or trust Black men. It’s a vicious cycle, but it has to stop. If it doesn’t the Black family won’t survive.

To protect themselves from heartbreak, many Black women hide behind an emotional wall; they’re protected by a thick, hard shell. In essence, there are many Black women who behave and think like men.
Consequently, Black men are often afraid to share their emotions in fear that they will be ridiculed by hardened Black women. Black men who express themselves are called “punks” and “soft” by Black women.
But how can any relationship prosper if both people are either too afraid, or too stubborn, to express their feelings? This is often the consequence of dating a Black woman.
Sisters, instead of being in a meaningful, emotionally edifying relationship with a good man, many of you consciously select the alternative. But if you leave good Black men in the cold, where do you think they will go? That’s right, straight into the arms of a white woman.
Some Black women protect their own feelings by wreaking havoc on those of others. I call it, “hurt before you get hurt” syndrome. Sisters, this behavior is counterproductive: it will turn a good man sour and he won’t be emotionally available for the next woman, perpetuating an ongoing cycle.
A friend recently told me, “When a guy is too nice, I think he’s up to something or trying to play me.” She added, “With thugs, you know what you’re getting, I don’t have to wonder.”
I’ve also spoken to a number of single Black men, and they have all expressed a desire for a Black partner. Yes, you read that correctly sisters: Black men want you, we really - really want you. When we date other women, it has nothing to do with them being more submissive or obedient.
In fact, White, Hispanic, and Asian women, are no less assertive than Black women. That’s a misconception. Confident Black men aren’t attracted to docile, subservient women. Speaking personally, I prefer women who can think for themselves and do for themselves.
However, Black women have more of a tendency to belittle, demean, and ultimately emasculate Black men more than other racial groups women do their men.

For this reason, many Black men aren’t convinced that being with a Black woman is such a good thing; not because they prefer white or Hispanic women, but because they are often harshly mistreated, disrespected and unappreciated by the Black women they encounter.

“It’s like they’re forcing us to go after other races,” one of my friends told me: “I go out on dates with Black women, and they tell me I’m not tough enough, I’m not wealthy enough, I’m not attractive enough. It’s funny, they expect so much from us, but most of them don’t bring much to the table either.”

Yes, too many Black women want us to be driving the newest car. They want us to be making six figures or more. They want to have a big house. They’re expectations are unrealistic, especially in a society where Black men still are at the bottom and have to fight for every dollar we get.
It’s still not easy to be a Black man in America, but I don’t think most Black women are concerned about this!”

Why Me: Black Men Murdering Each Other

Ice Cube's 'Why Me' Lyrics
Yeay.
Wassup Crip Loco
Yeah, uh, ya niggas shot me last night

I never did nothin' to your family Still you wanna kill a young nigger randomly, You wanna take the life God handed to me Send it back to him, coz you ain't a fan to me
Scary bitch with a gun that ain't a man to me
That's an animal, a fucking cannibal
I'm Jeronimo and Hannibal, we international
Gangsta bull I'm a bull in Barcelona
With a karona
You's a fake ass nigger, where's ya owner?
I'm real live man, you a persona,
Now I'm a goner, call ma momma in the corner
Mister gun man, your plan is working
Coz niggers is dying and mommas is hurting
Why you wanna murder me?
You never ever heard of me
You don't know who I am
I could be part of your family tree, now
Sent by G.O.D
To save the word you and me
You never know who you facin'
Who ya chasin' The life you wastin'
I was made by the one and only G.O.D
To take my life to the T.O.P
Now here comes a motherfuckin' D.O.G
Who ain't happy til a nigger is R.I.P
Tryin' to be som'in' you saw on BET
Either T.I.P or B.I.G
I don't give a fuck what you saw on TV
But a 187 don't make a O.G.
I'm a O.G, never had to fake it
God gave me this, how you goin' take it
What you goin' tell 'em, when you get to heaven
When he asks you why did you send back his present.
Who the fuck are you, you motherf**king peasant
Even got the nerve to ask the man for a blessin'
Send his ass to Hades with his big Mercedes
Nigger, hell on earth is being stuck in the 80's
Why you wanna murder me?
You never ever heard of me
You don't know who I am
I could be part of your family tree, now
Sent by G.O.D
To save the word you and me
You never know who you facin'
Who ya chasin' The life you wastin'
Before you shoot me man think about it
lets go have a drink about it
Before you make a stink about it
man lets talk about it, maybe we can walk about it
But just don't be a coward
And take my life 'cause you got the power
Of the white mans gun powder
Coz you might face a gun tower
And time never run out
They take the fun out, til your life run out
So don't pull the gun out
If you ever want a house, just like Run's house
It's better than a big house
Less four-five some woman we can dig out
Find a place we can pig out
Party all night, til the owner say 'get out'
Why you wanna murder me?
You never ever heard of me
You don't know who I am
I could be part of your family tree, now
Sent by G.O.D
To save the word you and me
You never know who you facin'
Who ya chasin' The life you wastin'
Dedicated to all the niggers, thats dead and don't know why.
Who wanna look at the nigger that shot 'em
And ask these questions.
Why me homie? Why me?

Nipsey Hussle and Black-on-Black Male Murders

by Kenny Anderson

Let me begin by stating anytime an innocent Black man dies by murderous Black-on-Black male violence in America it’s tragic whether he works at a minimum wage job or is a rapper celebrity like Nipsey Hussle.

For me Nipsey’s murder was tragic in this regard, he was a redemptive ex-CRIP gangbanger with Black consciousness and rare in the sense that he had recently opened up a store to revitalize his South-Central Los Angeles neighborhood to offset white gentrification. More importantly Nipsey over the years was instrumental in trying to bring BLOOD and CRIP gangs together.

Moreover Nipsey promoted STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for Black children and donated funds to various youth activities. Before his murder Nipsey revealed he was making a documentary profiling the life of Dr. Sebi a world known prominent Black male natural healer.

Many Black folks will say Nipsey’s murder is another graphic example of senseless violence. The truth is Black-on-Black male murders make plenty of sense, yes there are factors and reasons for it. One of the primary psychological factors that internally drives Black-on-Black male murders is self-hatred! Stanley “Tookie” Williams, co-founder of the Los Angeles street gang the CRIPS stated:

“I believe the core of why so many young Black men harm and kill each other is the embedded sense of self-hate. What I mean by that is, an individual who has been spoon fed so many derogatory images of his race will, after a period of time, start to believe those images. The images I’m talking about are the stereotypes that depict the majority of Blacks as being buffoons, functional illiterates, violent and promiscuous, welfare recipients, and indolent criminals. Unfortunately, too many Black people have been brainwashed into believing these racist stereotypes. And when an individual gets to believing, ‘Well, hell, if it’s true, then I must be just as disgusting as those images that are being depicted.’ So you end up lashing out at the individual, other gang members that you consider to be part of those stereotypes. In desperation, you’re trying to obliterate that negative image to rid yourself of this self-hate monster that subconsciously stalks you. In a sense, you’re trying to purify yourself, your environment, your race.”

Black male self-hatred is compounded by a sense of powerlessness, inside Black neighborhoods most of the businesses are controlled by the economic power of foreign merchant men (Arabs, Chinese, Koreans, East Indians, etc.) and the white man’s power dominates everything else. According to Sociologist Robert Staples:

“Since institutional power and other symbols of masculinity have been denied to the majority of Black men by White racist oppression and economic exclusion. Too many Black males, especially young Black males, have compensated masculinity based on fighting, violence, and exaggerated bravado.”

Unfortunately for too many Black men in America gangs and violence is fratricidal compensatory power. Also violence becomes misplaced aggression stress release from the tremendous distress of Black male powerlessness. Too many Black males use violence to discharge accumulated internal pressure to relieve tension of recurrent feelings of rage. In a self-destructive convoluted way engaging in violence makes them feel good providing ‘catharsis relief’ and gives them a sense of power and accomplishment: ’I’m successful I killed that nigga'!

A sense of powerlessness causes Black men to feel ‘invisible’ thus they use compensatory violence to be seen - gain ‘visibility’. For example when Black male murderers of Black men commit murders they become visible on the six o-clock news getting some news-shot fame, they finally get exposure. Eric Holder the suspected murderer of Nipsey Hussle was invisible now his visibility has gone viral. Murderous Black men like Holder finally get their recognition in a headline, momentarily they’re no longer as Ralph Ellison said the ‘invisible man’.

Furthermore powerlessness drives Black Males to be obsessed in obtaining compensated superficial symbolic power to be visible ‘all that’; constantly ‘playa-hating’ each other, rivaling and murdering each other over money, clothes, shoes, glasses, jewelry, and cars.

To just tell it like it is, Black on Black male violence has been non-stop in the post-Civil Rights and Black Power era. Indeed Black-on-Black male murders has been a normal every day way of life - a cemetery culture; as Nipsey Hussle stated: “We dealt with death, with murder; it was like living in a war zone, where people die on these blocks and everybody is a little bit immune to it."

Until we as a Black community sincerely address Black males self-hatred and powerlessness ‘internalized oppression’, something all Black folks are affected by, then Black-on-Black male murders will continue whether it’s a Black male murdered leaving his job at Burger King or a celebrity rapper like Nipsey Hussle gunned-down at his store.
